In an investigation carried out by NDTV, it was found that, nutrition supplements which are meant for malnourished aanganwadi children in Maharashtra are being sold by the middlemen as animal feed to poultry and dairy farms. These government nutrition supplies were meant for children of economically weaker section.
Pathetic is the word for such people, how can anyone steal children's food. No wonder despite of so many government schemes for food for poor, they are still malnourished and underweight children in India.
This is very disturbing. My heart cries out for these children whose food is being stolen and sold as animal feed. Reportedly Rs.1280 Crore is spent for these aanganwadis in Maharastra alone every year. This kind of money is enough to provide required nutritious food to all the poor children in Maharashtra.
